Born in New York City, Arthur Weisberg made Huntington his home in 1952. With his wife, Joan, they raised a family and established three successful businesses. Weisberg’s companies, State Electric Supply, Service Wire Company and Arthur's Enterprises have experienced continuous growth and have substantial economic impact on the area.
This growth has been realized because of Weisberg's dedication to his employees and a commitment to his community. The "Joan and Arthur Weisberg Chair in Software Engineering" was established in 1991 by Weisberg to promote advanced studies in software development at Marshall University.
Continuing his commitment to education, Weisberg established the Arthur's Enterprises Scholarship Foundation, which provides grants to the children of his employees. Weisberg has served on the board of directors for the Twentieth Street Bank. He also is a member of United Huntington Industries, a group of local business leaders that provides economic management and support to new businesses.
Weisberg was named the Herald Dispatch's 1995 "Citizen of the Year.”
