H.D. Miller

For H.D. "Dutch" Miller, business was the way he gained prominence in the Huntington area with Dutch Miller Chevrolet, Geo Hyundai and Dutch Miller Lincoln Mercury Mazda.

Miller graduated from Ashland High School in 1941 and served his country as a member of the Marine Air Corps starting in 1943. He was a carrier pilot in World War II, making numerous raids over Japan and was a member of the notorious Black Sheep Squadron. In 1952, he was recalled to active duty in Korean War. He retired from the Marine Corps in 1955 with the rank of Major. 

Miller made many contributions to the community. He was the official announcer at the Huntington Golden Gloves for more than 40 years. He announced the Junior League Horse Shows and was an avid supporter of Marshall University. He was one of the founding board members of the Yeager Scholars.
