James A. Tweel

1988 Inductee

When James A. Tweel graduated from Huntington High School in 1932, the country was in the depth of the Depression and Tweel's outlook for a prosperous future appeared dim. However, in 1938, when Tweel started Jim's Steak and Spaghetti House, he launched a career that would make him one of the city's most prosperous and respected citizens. Fifty years later, Jim's Steak and Spaghetti is more than just a restaurant, it has become a local landmark, and dining at Jim's has become a family tradition.

While Jim's has become a part of many Huntington families, Tweel has made the city a part of his family. He has been steadfast in his efforts to serve the city as an ambassador, ensuring that all who visit the city will grow to love Huntington as he does.
