Ken Hechler’s incredible career has often found him in the company of some of the country’s greatest moments. The author of several books including The Bridge at Remagen, Hechler was known for his clear and accurate documentation of historical events.
Hechler carried his philosophy of simple directness into the many areas of his life. From the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to the lectern at Marshall University and on to the office of West Virginia’s Secretary of State, Hechler found ways to make problems less complicated and solutions simple.
Hechler dedicated his life to serving others as a teacher, historian, author, public servant, advisor and leader.
