Robert D. Carpenter

Bob Carpenter is a native Huntingtonian and a graduate of Huntington High School, Marshall University and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Bob and his wife Evelyn married in 1954 and have two children. Bob's community and professional service led him to become president of the Huntington Rotary Club, Stella Fuller Settlement, Navy League, Tri-State Area Boy Scouts, Southwestern WV Heart Association, Cabell-Huntington Mental Health Association, WV Funeral Directors and Associated Funeral Directors International. He served as chairman of the March of Dimes and campaign chairman of the United Way.

Most importantly, he has been a driving force in the delivery of high-quality emergency services to the citizens of Huntington and has led the groups striving to achieve high-quality, emergency strategic response. He headed fundraising projects to secure the replacement of fire stations and fire equipment and was successful in obtaining the new location for the Tri-State Fire School.
